Our Story

nathalia&pedro.jpg

Every love story has a beginning.

Ours began in August 2024 — after both being invited to an event we didn’t want to attend. One mutual friend happened to bring us together that night. She spotted him in a crowd, and somehow, that was enough. Two sides of one coin, we spent our first night talking for over three hours — not realizing that call would change everything.

From our first date at Homer Café back in September, our story has been a collection of ordinary days made unforgettable.

Continuing the season of fall is when the two fell unknowingly deeper into love. We met for coffee and conversation at a cozy café in Vancouver. The food was good, the company better — and something unspoken began to bloom. Although separated by ocean and sea, the two remained in contact while Stephanie was away in Europe — staying connected even from Greece, where distance only made the bond stronger. Their calls stretched late into the night, and every message became a promise of what was to come.

Then came October — Jordan’s birthday month and our first celebration together. It was a night full of laughter, tequila, and warmth — the evening Stephanie met one of his closest friends for the first time. Between laughter, spontaneous toasts, and playful teasing, something began to shift: comfort turned into closeness, and celebration turned into the realization that this connection was becoming something truly special.

In November, we stepped into our first adventure — wandering beneath the twinkling lights of the Seattle Christmas Market, holding hot cocoa, pretending to be cold just to stay a little closer. It was the first of many trips together, full of shared playlists, inside jokes, and quiet moments that felt bigger than words. Amid festive music and candlelight, what began as a simple weekend getaway became a memory we still talk about today.

December was filled with warmth and meaning — Jordan met Stephanie’s mom for the first time, along with his brother and sister-in-law over dinner. Together, we put up our first Christmas tree at home in Vancouver. It was simple, cozy, and beautiful — the kind of night that quietly feels like forever. Between laughter and ornaments, we built new traditions that marked the beginning of our shared home and our shared life.

January brought rhythm — and a test of coordination. Our first concert, Gilberto Santa Rosa, led to our very first bachata dance, where Jordan impressed Stephanie with his moves. That same month, Jordan officially asked Stephanie to be his girlfriend. It was the perfect way to begin the new year — with music, joy, and the promise of a love that was only growing stronger.

By February, we discovered the best paella of our lives — a reminder that love, like food, is better when shared. We celebrated Valentine’s Day with a heart-shaped bouquet of white roses — Stephanie’s favorite — and continued going on dates, birthday dinners, and moments that deepened our connection as Jordan got to know her friends in Vancouver. It was a season filled with affection, laughter, and the kind of comfort that only comes when two hearts begin to truly understand each other.

In March, Stephanie flew to Georgia to visit, where she met Jordan’s parents for the first time. They fell in love with her instantly — but that was no surprise. Between southern warmth, family meals, and long conversations, it became clear that this love wasn’t just between two people anymore — it was slowly bringing two families together.

Then came April, the month of laughter, chaos, and color. There was the famous Uber incident — too much laughter, a little accident, and a lot of grace. Later that month, we painted a masterpiece together at The Splatter Studio, now hanging proudly in our home — a daily reminder that love, too, is messy and beautiful. Two days before taking a road trip to Alabama, where Stephanie planned to meet more of Jordan’s family, a chipped tooth led to an unexpected 24-hour detour to Sincelejo — allowing Jordan to meet Stephanie’s dad for the first time at the airport. What could have been a stressful day became a memory of grace and divine timing.

May brought a new kind of joy — cheering side by side at a Dodgers vs. Braves game, sharing snacks, laughter, and one more reason to call each other “home.” It wasn’t about the score or the teams — it was about the feeling of being together in a crowd, celebrating simple happiness, and realizing that love also lives in the quiet, ordinary moments.

June was the month of coming home. Jordan returned to Vancouver after time away, and for the first time, “home” didn’t feel like a place — it felt like a person. The reunion was quiet but meaningful, filled with the unspoken gratitude of finding stability and love after months of travel, distance, and growth.

In July, we rode the Rocky Mountaineer to Banff — ten hours of train tracks, laughter, mountains, and one small argument we can’t even remember. What we do remember are the lakes, the views, and the reminder that love means choosing grace, again and again. Between sunrise over the Rockies and long talks through glass windows, it became one of the most meaningful journeys we’ve shared.

And then came August 24th, 2025 — surrounded by a year full of adventure, grace, laughter, and love — the moment she said yes. Not just to a ring, but to a lifetime built on hope, grace, and moments that made us laugh until we couldn’t breathe.

Hope sparked our story.

Grace sustained it.

And love — patient, kind, and joyfully imperfect — became our foundation.

Our story has not been perfect, but it’s been one of growth and maturation — learning each other’s love languages, putting pride aside, and forgiving one another. These are just a few of the fruits of our labor in love, born from our willingness to yield to God’s will. We vow to choose each other forever, understanding that we are each other’s gift from God.
